Clinical Negligence - Better off bald

Gordon P was going bald at 29, which really distressed him. He saved up and underwent a hair transplant.

2000 artificial hairs were implanted in his scalp under anesthetic. Shortly afterwards the new hair fell out and his scalp became infected, covered in scabs and pus.

Gordon had to have hospital treatment, but even after this his scalp remained sensitive, especially in hot weather. He was awarded £5,000 for the pain and suffering and special damages of £3,350 for the cost of the treatment.
